Name It and Claim It in the news

The cover story in Time magazine this week is "Does God want you to be rich?". It is an interesting look at the various positions on the subject, including the requisite discussion of Joel Osteen. Clearly, the article does not go very deep, but it does maintain focus on the debate among Christians as to how God would have us relate to earthly wealth and success.

It is an interesting article which is also for the most part unbiased. If you read the full story on Time's website, you may notice a remark about Joel's shoes which may indicate the author's point of view on the subject.

I recommend the article as a good overview of the various points of view, though not an in-depth study of the supporting Scripture (which would genuinely have been surprising in Time magazine!!).
